Programs & Class Schedule
The techniques we teach are not reliant on strength, instead we
rely on momentum and leverage to overcome violent situations. Suitable for both women and men, we use a variety of locks, holds and take-downs to overcome attackers. We train using hand-to-hand, knife, sword and staff.
We are located in the blue stone building of Footscray City Primary School. The school is located on the corner of Bristow and Hyde Streets and is accessible by Bus (Number 409 bus which stops right outside the school) and Train (Footscray Train Station which is a 5 minute walk away). There is also plenty of parking.
Our training schedule is:
Monday 7pm-8:30pm
Thursday 7pm-8:30pm
Not open on public holidays.
First class free! Just wear loose, comfortable clothing.
There is a rule about new starters where you have to watch a class
first, then come back for your free class. So come and ask as many
questions as you like and get a feel for the dojo. When you return for
your free class we'll get one of the senior students to train with you
one-on-one. Class sizes are small and personal attention is given to
all students.
If you do decide to join, a membership fee will need to be paid. This
membership covers insurance in case of injury. A total year costs
about $204 for adults and $104 for students. You can also pay per
quarter, so that's roughly $51 every 3 months. There's no need to lock
yourself in for 1 year if that is not what you want. You can pay per
quarter.
Training fees are paid whenever you train and costs $9 for adults and
$6 for students/unemployed. You pay as you go, so if you don't come there's no need to pay.
Classes are for people aged 16 years and above.
