The Core of The BASE is Gracie Jiu Jitsu.

Gracie Jiu Jitsu (or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) is a Self Defence System developed by the Gracie Family in Brazil.

The main focus of Gracie Jiu Jitsu is to use leverage and technique to overcome power and brutality, no matter the size and athleticism of the practitioner, without having to throw a punch or a kick by using submission techniques (Joint locks, chokes, dominant control positions).

Gracie Jiu Jitsu was originally designed as a Self Defence System, but evolved through the years into different "parts":

-Self Defence

-Vale Tudo (or Mixed Martial Arts)

-Sport Jiu Jitsu
