The Capital Hapkido Community started as a small group of like minded martial artists that held the view that quality Korean Martial Arts programs should be available to all without an exorbitant price. The CHC is a proud member of the MAAB (Martial Artists Against Bullying), and provides several free Seminars annually based on Bullying in Schools and Women's self Defense.
The groups views came to life in 2012 when a team of black belts and a hand full of colour belt students were formally given permission to create the Capital Hapkido Community.
Grand Master Young Seol Ryoo of the Korea Hapkido Federation (KHF) and founder of the Martial Arts College International (MACI) shared the groups vision of providing an extremely high quality Korean Martial Arts systems for the Canberra community without the high price tag. Grand Master Ryoo endorsed the Capital Hapkido Commmunity and the community enjoys the full support from MACI, the KHF, and the International Gong Kwon Yu Sul Federation in which the CHC is the sole GKYS club in the Canberra region.
