I have been involved in the grappling arts, judo, wrestling, and more recently bjj since I was 13. A mate of mine has been studying kung fu with Gary for around 6 years. I have to be honest, I did have a fair degree of arrogance about my training, largely due to the culture of the arts I was practicing, bjj in particular. I thought kung fu was a bit ‘soft’ for my liking. Crouching tiger stuff. As we started to have a few workouts together I was pretty shocked by how much explosive energy and range of skills he had. To be straight, he had it all over me. I went along to Gary’s classes thinking he might be able to teach me something that would improve my bjj skills. Instead I learned that the no rules fighting that Gary teaches is nothing like a grappling contest. These guys are the best all round fighters I have seen. Very devastating fighting style. I am now focusing on kung fu with Gary and I am enjoying my martial arts training more than I ever have before.

I started training at Gary Martin kung fu at the beginning of 2020 after a long search to find a martial arts school that retained all the real fighting principles. All the others I looked at where training for unrealistic sport events. Gary’s school is nothing like your typical suburban commercialised martial arts school. Think modern day Shaolin temple type training. Very hard training. The standard of the members is unbelievable. They have incredible speed and power. The best part though is the study of the ‘internal’ parts of the arts. This really has been life changing for me as it has not only lifted my fitness to a whole new level, but also my ability to think more clearly under pressure. This is what I thought real martial arts was all about and this is the only place I could find it. I massively recommend this place if you are serious about your martial arts training. FYI, I drive an hour and a quarter each way to train, but its definitely worth it!!

My review of Gary Martin Kung fu is 5 star all the way.

Gary Martin is a genuine legend. Trained since a kid, undefeated fighter in the toughest fighting scene possible, Grand Master, trainer of many of Australia’s best martial artists.

IMHO and personal experience the most inspiring and motivating mentor i have met. Training at Gary Martin Kung fu changes your life for the better. I am physically the fittest I have ever been and for the first time in my life I have control over my emotions. The martial arts taught by Gary and his teaching crew are brilliant. I recommend this school to everyone who wants to learn a real MARTIAL ART from a REAL martial artist.

Me and a business associate, Russel Jones used to run a group of companies and car yards together. One night over a beer we debated who would be the best fighter, a boxer, footballer, doorman, streetfighter or some sort of martial arts. We had at the time an unused wharehouse in Surry Hills and thought that would make the ideal venue for our ‘challenge’ to take place. We put the word out and it didnt take long to get our participants. We had fighters from all disciplines turning up to our fights. To make it fair to everyone we declared our fights no rules, meaning anything goes so it wouldnt favour one style of fighter. The fights were tough and sometimes brutal. About a third of the way thru our contests ( which went for around 18 months ) Gary Martin started to take part in the fights and caused a major shift in the standard of our events. This guy brought a whole new meaning to the word fighter and commenced to anialate his way thru our events. Slippery untouchable defence and utterly devastating striking power saw him knock out fighter after fighter. After around 60 or so fights he was still unbeaten but time had caught up with Russel and me and we had to sell the premises. Many of the competitors started learning off Gary, and I believe today his teachings are still strongly sought after. If I was in the position of requiring a coach to train me how to fight I can assure you Gary would be the man I’d choose. Funny as it sounds, not only is Gary a feasome fighter but I also recall him being a first rate man, that cant be said about many of the men that took part in Rus and my fighter challenge.

I am new to this school having joined this year but i can tell you it is an amazing place to train. Fitness- tick, martial arts that is relavant for real attacks- tick, mental training that enables you to live your life at a higher level- big tick. Gary Martin is extremely good at training people to achieve their best. I have never felt fitter, stronger and more mentally in control than i do after only a few months of training. Highly recommend Gary Martin Kung fu Centre. Also the fighting skills taught here are a huge step above anything ive seen.

I started with Garys school just after Christmas and its been the best thing i've ever done. Already i'm burning unwanted body fat and i'm feeling more muscle toned. The martial arts here are incredible, extremely logical, and covers all areas of practical self defence. The best part though is Garys knowledge on martial arts and how to get the best mental attitude in everyday life. It has been lifechanging for me, even my wife and work colleagues have noticed a change in my attitude- more positive and more drive. I recommend Gary to everyone i meet.

When i set out to find a martial art to get into all i could find were kick boxing/ mma/bjj schools. They're everywhere, all teaching a similar thing. But to me they are sports, they arent really what i wanted. Once i saw the training at Garys school i found what i wanted. Real 'no rules' martial arts. This school has very high standards and what impressed me was how many high graded members are there. This school isnt following the sheep and doing the same things as the rest of them. Ive only been there for 6 months and ive learnt so much about real attacks and how to win them. Great martial arts, excellent fitness training and life mentoring. Highly recommend it.

My review of Gary Martin Kung fu is based off nearly a lifetime of knowing both Gary and his iconic school. I first met Gary at his grandfathers school at Coogee when Gary was preparing for his Gold Sash ( master ) grading. His intensity of training and preparation was equal to an athlete preparing for a gold medal. As with other reviewers I too saw Gary compete in no rules contests (that used to be held in an abandoned wharehouse behind the Tip Top bread bakery in Surry Hills each Tuesday). I know first hand what a excellent fighter he is. I can't ever remember anyone ever beating him, in fact I'm sure he was ( is ) undefeated. My career as a Pilot has allowed me the privilege of seeing many of the worlds best martial arts masters and their schools. I can confidently state that Gary's school is up with the very best I've seen. Martial arts in general is loosing its direction and is now becoming another form of sport, not the direct and efficient fighting arts they once where. If anyone reading this review is doing so to help decide whether to train with Gary, my strongest advice is do so. This could most definitely be one of the last chances you'll have to be taught and mentored by a true Master of the martial arts.

Like the 2 previous reviewers I used to be under the impression that mma/ kick boxing etc where self defence. I too found out the hard way that they are sports, and only useful against 1 oppononent. Unfortunately when I was attached it was with 3 opponents. Bye bye mma training, hello 4 days in hospital. I too joined Gary Martins School because the training covers a far greater range of attacks than just one opponent and a referee. This is a real martial arts school, not a form of sport like most of the others out there are. One other point of interest. Gary's school is extremely popular, and one of the reasons why is because so many people keep training there for years and years. The mma school I used to train at couldn't keep people for more than a few months. I think this is the 'secret' of how to pick a good school from a bad school, how many people stick with the training and how many keep dropping out. I highly recommend Gary Martin Kung fu, extremely professional, very practical, and very motivating.

Over Christmas me and my cousin where debating martial arts. I used to be a big ufc fan and thought mma was the best. My cousin did Muay Thai Boxing and he said that was the best. My uncle came over and sat with us and told us of a Kung fu fighter he had seen fight in underground no rules fights. He said that his Kung fu was fast and he won all the fights my uncle witnessed. He then told us that this Kung fu fighter teaches people at his school and we should go along and look at it and not keep arguing over mma or Muay Thai boxing. After Christmas we tracked down the school, Gary Marin Kung fu Centre, and went along to see it. Wow. This is nothing like we've ever seen before. The standard is awesome. My cousin and me have both joined and are learning how to fight for real, against all types of opponents, knife attacks, baseball bats, and more than one attacker. The training is hard but there's a really good team spirit as everyone is friendly and helpful. I hope this review helps you to find this school.

Before I joined Gary Martin Kung fu I did kick boxing for 18 months. I thought I was a real hot shot until me and my fiancé were hasled by a group of locals in Bali. I didn't have any idea how to deal with a group or a knife as kick boxing doesn't teach that. I was totally demoralised and when I got back to Sydney I was committed to finding a school that covered these type of fights. Everyone kept saying go to Gary Martin, he's awesome. I joined and I love it. Gary is a hard trainer but it's worth it. This place is the best, no doubt. On another point, after I joined Gary's school I went thru a bad time with some personal issues. Gary was the only person who recognised I was suffering and was the only person who helped me get thru it. As well as teaching me how to defend myself Gary has also taught me how to get the best out of my life and I can't thank him enough. Gary's school is a great place.

I recently joined Gary Martin Kung fu Centre and I feel it is awesome. On my first class I was taught by Gary Martin and was blown away by how good he is both as a teacher and of his own abilities. Gary's school is extremely professional in every aspect, yet the fees are low. I have often stayed back and watched the advanced members train and this class really has to be seen to comprehend how fast and skilled they are. A main difference I have found with Gary's classes are his talks to the groups on the mental aspects of training. Some of these talks are genuinely life changing, Gary seems to have an infinite amount of knowledge on these topics. I'm the fittest I've ever been and even after a short period of learning I feel confident about defending myself now. I definitely recommend Gary Martin Kung fu Centre, it's a really positive place, teaching very powerful martial arts in a professional manner. 5 star in every aspect.

I've had a career with the Army and I have seen a lot of different martial arts from around the world. My (17yo) son recently asked me to help him find a good school to train with. We went and looked at around 20 or so different schools until we visited Gary Martin Kung fu Centre. Man this is it! This is the one. No other school covers as much as Gary's school does. This is all reality based training, not preparing for competitions with unrealistic rules. I spoke with Gary for around 40 minutes on the first night we looked, and have talked with him a lot since and I have to say he is the most knowledgable person I've met on the sciences of martial arts and fitness. My son was doing cross fit when he started with Gary but has cut that out as the fitness training at Gary's is spot on anyway. I highly recommend this school. My son has a more positive attitude now, a better self esteem, and a lot more confidence. This is a really good school. The members here are the best martial artists I've seen anywhere.

Gary Martin Kung fu Centre is a one of a kind martial arts school. I've done and looked into many different types of martial arts and the trend now seems to be kids classes along with adult kickboxing and mma. These classes look more to me like fitness classes than my impression of what a martial arts class should be. Gary's classes are different than the rest because he focused on the martial part of the arts. As soon as you walk in the door of Gary's school you'll feel the difference, less hype, less commercialised, more focused on training to defend yourself in a real world attack. The standard of the members at Gary's establishment reflect this, these are seriously good martial artists without any bs and hype. I don't go in for all the American type sales and promo rubbish used by too many schools in the martial arts now, I want a stable school with a great track record for producing top martial artists, taught by a Master. That's the Gary Martin Kung fu Centre.

I'm a member of the Gary Martin Kung fu Centre and in my opinion it's excellent. One thing I did learn when I first started looking at various schools though is not to place too much importance on their websites. Gary's school has a fairly basic website, but the school is one of the most popular in Australia. Other schools had plenty of big claims but when I got there they were small with not many students. Gary's school is really friendly, yet the training is hard, everyone gives out their best to be their best. The teaching team at Gary Martin Kung Fu Centre is world class. Very impressed.

I've been training at the Gary Martin Kung fu Centre now for just on 2 years. The training is always interesting and varied. Gary is mega experienced with over 37 years of teaching experience. He is always positive and motivating. The Gary Martin Kung fu Centre is one of the biggest schools in Australia and this is because so many advanced members are still training full on after 10, 20 and even 30 years. The standard of these advanced members is outstanding, I personally have never seen martial artist of this standard anywhere. It is an amazing place. Physical fitness is improved thru the training and so to is mental fitness. I can honestly say I have never felt as healthy as I do now. The type of Kung fu taught at the Gary Martin Kung fu Centre is rare, this school is a one off centre of martial arts excellence for people wanting this level of tuition and guidance. In a word, it's awesome.

I joined Gary Martin Kung fu Centre and I have to say it is an extremely impressive school. The fees are sensible with no contracts or bank debits, the gym is well set up and in a good quiet area, and the parking is good. The teaching standard is first rate. Very professionally organised and run. Gary is always there and helps you in any area of Kung fu or life in general. The atmosphere is very positive. The members I've met all seem top people with no bad attitudes or egos. The training is fun yet full on in intensity, my fitness has improved since I started. The self defence aspect is very practical and seems to take in every type of attack you could come up against. All up I can say this is a very professional martial arts school with very high standards of teaching.

Very effective self defence. A lot of emphasis on fitness and efficient use of your body for max power. The training makes you super aware of potentially dangerous situations and how to make sure you are ready if trouble starts. Gary is an excellent teacher, very knowledgable and experienced. Great atmosphere, very motivating. The training covers a very wide range of attacks that could happen to you, from one opponent attacks, multiple opponents, knife defence, baseball bats, fighting off the ground, larger opponents, even public transport situations, As the following reviewer wrote, one of the arts Gary teaches is a bodyguard art so a lot of training goes into correct observation skills. A strong art. A great place to train.

I recently joined Gary Martin Kung fu Centre and I'm stoked. Gary teaches 3 different styles of Kung fu which together form a strong fighting system. One of the arts Gary teaches is a rare type called Hsing I (pronounced shing ee) and is a battlefield art also used by bodyguards in China. This art places a large emphasis on being aware of what is going on around you at all times, and since I started training with Gary I find myself now looking at situations to assess any threats. Before I really had no idea of what was going on and the possible threats that could have been there. I haven't seen or heard of this level of training taught anywhere else. My fitness is getting better each training session and I feel a lot more mentally sharper as well. I highly recommend Gary Martin Kung fu Centre.

This schools website only gives a basic overview of training there. You really have to see it to believe what an amazing place it is. I did martial arts when I was a kid and my 2 kids do martial arts training at another place now, but it wasn't until this week when I went along to see my brother get awarded his Red Sash at Gary's school that I realized this is the real thing! The atmosphere is incredible, the training is high energy, and the standard of the members here makes me wish I started this when my brother did. They are awesome. I never knew a school this good even existed. If you think, like I did, that all martial arts schools are relatively the same, I can assure you they are not, Gary's school is on another level to anything I've ever seen or done.

Gary Martin Kung Fu Centre changed my life for the better. When I first joined I was overweight and I had a low self esteem. I had been bullied most of my life and had little confidence. As the weeks and months went by, training with Gary started to change the way I looked and how I felt about myself. My confidence is getting stronger and for the first time in a long time I actually like myself. Gym workouts and other martial arts couldn't do for me what Gary's training has. I highly recommend Gary's school to all my friends, many have joined as well and agree it is awesome.

I first joined Gary Martin Kung fu after the owner of the business I work for recommended him after he saw him blitz some guy in a no rules fight. He said Gary is the most technically complete all round fighter he has ever seen. I joined around 7 years ago and I'm still training there now. I'll share with you an incident that I witnessed that confirmed what I had been told about Gary's abilities. One night 3 guys turned up to train claiming to be cage fighters. They were pretty raucous and it looked like they could be 'trouble'. Gary quietly walked over and told the instructor to have the night off as he would be taking the beginner class that night. For the next hour these guys got a lesson on the difference between a real Grand Master and pretenders, No contact just vastly superior knowledge and skill. I also witnessed the incident described on the website when he blasted a heavyweight member thru a door while demonstrating how to do a front kick. In actual fact the big guy went thru 2 doors! Gary is an awesome martial artist and his school is producing many outstanding Kung fu fighters.

Before I started training at Gary Martin Kung fu I did a couple of martial arts and gym work. I did this so I would be good at different types of fighting. Boxing for hands, Brazilian ju jitsu for grappling and gym for strength. This was costly and time consuming but that is what the instructor recommended. My brother in law trains with Gary and kept on me to change over. I went along for a workout and it is excellent. Each workout covers all what I was doing and more in the 3 different disciplines. At Gary's school he supervises all the classes for the members up to 1 year, these are taught by a gun group of instructors. After 1 year Gary teaches the class himself. This is a great school. Very popular and well known. I just wish I started with Gary in the first place, I'd be a lot richer and a better martial artist.

I've been training with Gary Martin Kung fu centre for over 5 years. So I think I'm in a good position to review the school accurately. Are the martial arts taught effective? Yes. It covers the widest range of possible attacks of any school I've seen. Does the training get you fit? Absolutely. Gary's training incorporates fitness sessions in every workout. The part of this school though that stands it apart from all other martial arts and fitness training is the strong philosophy of this rare Kung fu that Gary teaches every night. Gary's coaching puts you in control of your life and enables you to set and reach goals that you previously didn't think you could achieve. This place is way more than just martial arts or fitness. Way more. With the direction the fitness and martial arts industries are going now, where it looks like people just buy a franchise with very little experience needed, it's quite possible that schools like Gary Martins will be the last of the real Master taught martial arts school where you will be taught the entire arts. I enjoy every workout and look forward to the journey that still lays ahead for me.

Gary Martin was recently on the cover of an international magazine and the heading read No Bull Kung fu. I come from a MMA background and to be honest I have never rated Kung fu schools as they place too much emphasis on lineage and forms. Man was I shocked when I visited Gary's school last night! These guys train as hard as any MMA school I've ever seen including the top schools I've visited in America. But what impressed me the most was the wide range of attacks that they prepare for. These guys don't seem to have any week spots as they train for 1 on 1 fights, they train to fight against more tha 1 opponent, knife training, ground fighting and on and on it went. I spoke to Gary and I have to say I'm massively impressed with him and the school.

Gary Martin Kung fu Centre is a five star martial arts training centre. I've never seen anything like it. Gary is a powerhouse martial artist and an instructor who is able to explain everything in a way that makes sense and is understandable. The members here, particularly the advanced members have to be seen to be believed just how good they are. Gary hasn't opened up branches everywhere, instead he totally focuses on teaching his students to a genuinely world class standard at this one awesome training centre. Gary also puts a lot of emphasis on teaching emotion control and how to stay calm and focused in high stress situations. I've been training with Gary now for over five years and I'm still enjoying it like I did when I first started. It is life changing, the best thing I've ever done.

I work at Bankstown hospital and a security guard that trained at the Gary Martin Kung fu Centre said he would rather step in to an octagon with 3 cage fighters at the same time than take on Gary Martin. My fiancé and I went along to see and we were both hugely impressed. The classes looked fun and high energy and are professionally structured so that your fitness and skill level are sensibly increased in stages. After a year we progressed to the advanced class and in our opinion the people in this class are some of the best martial artists we've ever seen. Man they are good!. There is no doubt Gary is a great martial artist himself but the super standard of the the students here also shows that he is an excellent instructor as well. I'm fitter now at 32 than I was when I was 22 and my self confidence is the best it's ever been. My life is in a good place now and it's since I started Kung fu training at Gary's school. I love it and highly recommend it.

Some of the reviews on this site mention no rules contests that Gary Martin took part in. These where held in a warehouse behind the Tip Top bread bakery at Surry Hills and were on every Tuesday. The participants ranged from martial artists like Gary, doormen, footballers and just hard street fighters. I came up against Gary twice and both times he did me with a head kick. Dam. Anyway, to you good people reading this, if you want to be taught by a mentor who has actually used what he teaches, go and learn off Gary. He's a nice guy too.

Trying to choose a good martial arts school is not easy . All their web sites claim they're the best, read the forums, and they criticise and hammer them all! I must have looked at around 10 different types of martial arts before narrowing it down to 2 different Kung fu schools. When I went to the first one I received a heavyweight sales pitch and run down of the fee structures. Then I went to Gary Martin Kung fu Centre. Not only is this school way bigger than the others in both gym size and members, Gary took his time and answered all the questions I had with no heavy selling. I joined and I can tell you it is awesome. I'm progressing at a good pace and can easily see why this school is so popular and well respected. Very professional in all aspects.

I took around 6 weeks looking at a variety of martial arts schools before settling on Gary Martin Kung fu Centre. I live in the Sutherland Shire so this means a decent travel each night. After a short time there I found that other members travel from as far away as Katoomba, Wollongong and the Central Coast! This made my commitment seem easy. This school is so unique and the standards so high that the travel is totally worth it. I'm really enjoying the training and getting a lot out of it. Gary is an extremely knowledgable teacher who makes every class interesting, enjoyable and challenging. Great school.

Being neighbours I grew up with Gary Martin, and we have always kept in contact and stayed lifelong friends. Even as a kid Gary was totally committed to his Kung fu training as he still is today. I feel I can say that Gary is a fantastic human being who always honours his word. He is also a lethal fighter. Gary participated in a lot of real no-rules competitions, against all types of fighters . This means that when Gary teaches in his class he is teaching skills he has actually used in real combat. Gary's training will for sure be hard because that is the way he was trained. My son trains at Gary Martin Kung fu Centre and he is a fit strong and confident young man, and a lot of that comes down to training with a Grand Master instructor like Gary.

I have trained at the Gary Martin Kung fu Centre for 5 years and can recommend it highly. The training is always interesting and fast pace. Gary explains the reasoning behind all the skills taught and this means that you fully understand why you do a technique, not just how to do it. On a personal level I am extremely impressed with Gary, he really walks his talk and works hard at his day job and is a successful person, like he mentors his students to be. The people that train with Gary are an excellent group, genuinely nice people, yet as martial artist they are first rate. Gary is very particular about maintaining high standards in the school and he puts this above money. The class fees are low and the class standards are high. Overall I rate this school extremely highly, it has changed my life for the better on many levels.

i first came across Gary Martin years ago when we used to hold fights for all comers every Tuesday at Surry Hills. Gary was a regular there and his style of fighting was always very exciting to watch and very effective. If my memory serves me correctly I don't believe he ever lost a contest and that was against some seriously hard men. Now his school and the people that train with him have a great reputation for high standards. It's excellent to see, but not surprising that the school is consistantly rated as highly as it is.

I don't train at the Gary Martin Kung fu Centre but I have been involved in the martial arts for 17yrs. Just about everyone has heard of this schools reputation but it wasn't until this week that I had the opportunity to see it first hand and actually talk to Gary. I have come away with one thought in mind, this school is a hub of martial arts excellence. One of the best schools in Australia.

The Gary Martin Kung fu Centre is a prestigious and popular martial arts school. The Red Sash members of this school are amongst the highest ranked martial artists in Australia. I believe there are three reasons for this schools amazing success. One is the fact that Gary is an excellent martial artist and a dedicated teacher. Two, the 3 arts Gary teaches combine to create an powefull fighting system. Thirdly, the people that train with Gary want to be trained to high standards and wont settle for easy workouts and gradings. If you are looking to start up martial arts you will not go wrong choosing this one. It really is an excellent school.

If you love martial arts and you haven't seen the Gary Martin Kung fu Centre put it on your to do list in life. This school is one of a kind. Because Gary didn't go down the business way of opening up branches in every suburb his school has an incredible number of high ranked members. These are very good martial artists. When I first started looking for a good school to train at I started by checking out the various websites. Most schools didn't live up to their hype. Gary's school is the opposite, the website doesn't go any where near describing how good this school really is .

Gary Martin Kung fu Centre has completely exceeded my expectations. After a little over 12 months I am the fittest I've ever been. I now feel more mentally sharper as well. I have confidence in my ability to defend myself as Gary's training covers so many real world situations. If you ever meet a Black Belt or Red Sash from this school, shake their hand and congratulate them as they have really earned these elite grades. I'm training hard to get my Black Belt one day and it will be one of the best achievements in my life so far. The atmosphere at training is enjoyable and very motivating, even my wife comments on the positive changes it has had on me and our relationship.

If you are considering joining Gary Martin Kung fu Centre my advice is most definitely yes, but, only if you are serious about your training. This is an excellent martial arts school with a strong reputation. The members at this school are outstanding. Gary will train you to very high standards but don't expect it to be like kids classes, it's not. Nothing good in life comes easy and nor do the grades at Gary's school.

I'm a martial arts enthusiast who lives in Brisbane. For years I've read about Gary Martin in Blitz Martial Arts Magazine and have always wanted to see his school. Last week I made the commitment and flew to Sydney to do a training workout with Gary. The workout was tough and deep with knowledge. After my class I stayed on to watch the advanced members train. Wow. These are seriously good martial artists. Fast, agile, and seem to have an unlimited range of tactics and skill. Every person male and female seemed to be really enjoying their lesson and there is a very positive feel to the place. The trip was one of the best experiences I have had in my martial arts journey. I can't stop thinking about how good those advanced members are. Gary, please open a school here in Brisbane !!

I've tried a few different martial arts thru the years but when I joined Gary Martin Kung fu Centre I finally found a school I want to stick with for the long term and study. Gary's training covers an extremely broad range of skills. Since joining my range of defence skills has increased massively. Gary teaches the full art and that even includes subjects like Acupressure, which works extremely well, stress management and Kung fu weapons. Every workout is high energy and fun. Gary gives out maximum energy every night and he expects high standards of training back. The members here are some of the sharpest martial artist I've seen and because Gary's focus is on one school only I get to train with them nightly. I look forward to each training night and if Gary taught 7 days a week I'd be there.

All my life I suffered from a lack of self confidence. When I started work this actually affected the quality of my life. Around then I started doing Kung fu with Gary Martin. Even though Gary teaches the martial arts to exacting high standards and the fitness bonus that comes with that, it was the mental side of the training that I was after. Within a few months of Gary's motivating workouts I could actually feel myself becoming mentally stronger. Now 3 years on and I even my family and friends comment on the positive changes training with Gary Martin has had on me. Even though the martial arts and fitness here is first class it's the changes to the way you use your brain better that I think make this school so sort after.

I'd done gym and weights for 4 years before joining Gary Martin Kung fu Centre and I thought I was fairly fit. It didn't take many sessions with Gary to work out I wasn't! I now know why Comando Steve Willis from the tv show Australia's Biggest Looser claimed that training with Gary Martin are some of the hardest workouts he's ever had. I know of a few first grade Rugby League players who say a similar thing. The martial arts Gary teaches are what I call logical. It all makes logical sense and I like that. Gary is a super life motivator and since I commenced training with him I've had two promotions at work, and I have recently put down a deposit on a property. Before Gary I was going no where. I think this school is excellent.

Gary Martin Kung fu Centre is awesome! I joined around 18 months ago to get fit and learn self defence. I've now lost 12 kilos, I feel strong, fit and fast. The arts Gary teaches cover a wide range of defence situations including knife attacks, baseball bat attacks, glassings, multiple opponent attackers, ground fighting, power and speed training, and that's all in the first 12 months. Gary Martin is a red hot martial artist and a positive life coach. Training with Gary has improved my life. I absolutely recommend this school.

My association with Gary Martin goes back to the 1970's when I trained at his grandfathers school at Coogee. Gary was always full-on and was competing in no rules events and training for his Gold Sash grading. No matter what techniques you tried on Gary he always seemed to be one step ahead. Life has moved on and now my grandson trains at Gary's school out at Moorebank. He raves on about how good Gary is and how popular the school is. I have noticed that he is now a lot more positive and focused since he started training with Gary. While not all people will appreciate or want the high standards Gary aims for, those people that do will get a lot out of this school.

I have been fortunate to have trained in some of the leading martial arts schools in the US and Japan. Last year I joined Gary Martin Kung fu Centre. I believe this school is as good as any martial arts school I have seen anywhere. Gary Martin is a formidable martial artist. This school genuinely earns the title World Class.

My dad was in the team that helped Gary Martin train and prepare for his Gold Sash grading in the early 1980s so growing up I continually heard about what an excellent martial artist Gary is. I started training with Gary as soon as I became old enough and trained with Gary up until a year ago when work sent me overseas. Gary Martin is an inspiring person who not only trains people in martial arts skills but also on how to succeed in life as well.

I joined the Gary Martin Kung fu Centre 3 years ago and it's the best life choice I have done. The martial arts taught are extremely practical for real world situations Gary Martin and the teaching team are first rate in the manner in which they explain why everything is being done. The members are all a great group of people with no egos or macho attitudes. There are no kids in the classes so every workout is super challenging. I highly recommend this school for people looking self defence and a positive lifestyle. There are a huge number of members who have been training for over ten years and many over twenty years This has to show how good this school is.

I tried different schools and different styles for over 10 years before walking through the doors of GMC.

I'm a martial arts fan, I like them all. From my experience though, no other school offers the same consistently high intensity workouts, along with the range of skills, the street effectiveness, and the depth of knowledge and experience all in one place.

I've been training there for 15 years now and I've more to learn. I've come to the realisation that I'm now embarking on the journey to learn the things that attracted me to martial arts some 25 years ago. Back then, I didn't know what they were just that I wanted more.
