Travis is a great teacher and passionate about the art. He travels to Japan at least twice a year to keep his own training up and is more than happy to have interested students accompany him. He has a range of warm up, strength and flexibility based techniques that he goes through at the beginning of the class which has really helped me gain some of my previously lost youthful strength and flexibility.
The Jinenkan is made up of the individual arts outlined on the page but each one is a complete art in itself. The variation in styles ensures that there is something that will suit just about everyone while also learning the context of the movement in a classical Japanese battlefield situation. Great for those interested in another aspect of Japanese history. We also go through weapons training which includes but is not limited to katana, bo and tanto (knife) which is also great fun.
I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity to study a great martial art in such depth.
I was so impressed that I put my son (7) in his Friday kids classes which run during school term. It's great to be able to study a martial art together that has such a long history and Travis is great with the kids.
