My 3 children all did karate with Hanshi Pat McKean & Shihan Kerrie Mee at the hombu dojo in Southport for 3 years. Their instruction & attention to the children was exceptional. My children have significantly improved in their confidence, discipline and concentration. It has improved all areas of their life. Thank you Kenkokan !!!

I was a student of this school for 14 years, and only stopped when I had to move interstate. It was such a privilege to train with a 10th Dan Grand Master - Hanshi Pat McKean. I haven't been able to find another dojo that reaches the high standards of Kenkokan Karate-Do. There are 5 instructors with Kenkokan that have been there over 20 years. Training both adults and children, with opportunities to compete in tournaments and travel interstate and / or overseas if you choose.

Should I move back to the Gold Coast, I will be back training there in a flash.

A privilege and rare opportunity to train under a true master at this club. Hanshi Pat McKean 10th Dan (Japan graded)

The kenkokan style has some unique aspects in movement and style. Providing power and speed to combine in a very effective defense and striking ability to the practitioner. Much emphasis is placed on avoiding injury during training and competition. The club is very successful in kumite and kata tournaments both local and national. the recent oceania cup koshiki tournament say several top placings for the UKB KENKOKAN students.

The club has four dojos across qld and is always looking to welcome quality new students.

Please feel welcome to check out this club.
