A captivating and addictive way to self improvement and to learn Kung Fu

I've been training under Gow Lian (Andrew) now for just under 3 months and since ive started I've gone to every class bar 3. I can honestly say this has been one of the best decisions I've made since finishing high school in 2011. The classes improve your level of physical fitness, flexibility, mental strength, balance as well as coordination. The class itself has a relaxed and comfortable air to it. Don't get me wrong, it is a grueling workout but a friendly environment none the less. I would encourage anyone to come along and try a class; there is a vast range of size, age, fitness and skill, however, the instruction compensates for the diversity allowing for the appropriate personal progress. I remember nearly turning away at the start of the year before I even walked in the door. Even three months down the track the person I am now wouldn't walk away without atleast giving such an oppotunity a chance as I know first hand the potential to be gained from having a little courage and taking the first step. Its always the hardest.

The Kung Fu School - is an awesome place to learn Kung Fu! The instructor is knowledgeable, communicates well with every student, and has a contagious passion for martial arts. The format of each class changes from week to week, so there is no chance of boredom setting in. I highly recommend this school to those looking to learn martial arts, self-defense and get fit in a fun and welcoming environment, regardless of experience or age.

I have been training at the Nam Pai Chuan Sydney for a little over one year now, and it has become an important part of my life. Not only does it keep me fit, I am learning to defend myself in the process. The teacher is excellent, and the classes are very stimulating. Class always varies from week to week, so it never gets boring! It is a great group of people to train with and everyone at the school has been very welcoming. I highly recommend the school to anyone looking to meet some new people, get fit, and learn an excellent martial arts.

I've been practicing Nam Pai Chuan Kung Fu for more than three years now and in that time have not failed to be impressed by the quality of instruction and dedication of all involved. Since I have began Kung Fu my energy and concentration levels have increased during work/study. I put this down the good mix between traditional elements: (breathing, meditation etc.), and more contemporary components.

This is a very versitile and interesting martial art form. Every class is different so you never get bored and it is always a great workout with everything from stretching and conditioning to cardio. The classes are fun, with a good balance of men AND women. I also love the forms, which are very powerful and beautiful, each with it's own history.

Our instructor, Andrew puts a lot of preparation into the format of each and every class. The focuses are on building individual fitness while adhering to the curriculum of this international club. We train twice a week and classes go from 7:00pm to 8:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays and there is also opportunity to arrive early and practice on your own or with a senior student. I started to notice increased muscle tone within about 6 months as well as increased cardio fitness. I have been training at TheKungFuSchool.com.au for nearly 3 years now. As a 43 year old man who works behind a desk and has not done much in the way of exercise for 20 years I have found Kung Fu to be extremely rewarding to the point of being able to walk the 100Km over 7 days of The Overland Track with my teenage boy, and experience that will be treasured forever. The comradery of all of the students makes it very enjoyable and I always look forward to each class to catch up with everyone. Gradings are held several times a year and it is be very rewarding each time you go up a belt. I did a little karate when I was 15 and I had been thinking about returning to martial arts so when my work colleague invited me along I was very quick to accept. I think it can be a big step to come along for the first time and it can be a bit intimidating to walk into a new environment for the first time but I am sure that you will soon be feeling very much welcomed by everyone so why not come along and give Kung Fu a try. I highly recommend it.

Best school I've found - hands down.

This school is hands down the best school I've found - everyone is friendly and Gao Lien makes the classes fun (which you definitely need as the sessions are no walk in the park). That said, everyone is very focussed, so I've found that I've learnt quickly and am now working towards my third grading. It's a bonus having the best view in Sydney too while you sweat!

I definitely recommend this class to anyone who wants to get seriously fit and of course learn how to 'kung fu'!
