Kendo is a modern Japanese martial art of sword-fighting based on traditional samurai swordsmanship, or kenjutsu.
The ‘Ken’ means sword and ‘Do’ means way or path. Translating to ‘the way of the sword’, a path in life which is followed through the training of kendo.
Kendo builds character, self-discipline and respect and is rich with tradition. Kendo is a physically and mentally challenging activity that combines martial arts values with sport-like elements.
Beginners are always welcome at our club. Getting started may seem a little daunting at first, so come along and do the Beginners Course. You will learn all the basics step by step.
