The Pencak Silat style Anak Harimau has mainly been influenced by traditional Silat styles of Indonesia, which are only taught rarely outside of their homeland.
The first elements taught are the basic movements, which include postures, arm and leg techniques and basic falling skills.
Besides the use of a variety of traditional weaponry, such as Golok (traditional sord / machete), Toya (long stick), Tonkat (short stick) and Sabit (traditional rice sickles), which are taught in Anak Harimau, the weaponry training emphasizes a traditional knife fighting system as well as realistic and practical self-defense techniques.
